    If you are experiencing issues with your printer, if may require that you reinstall the drivers for the printer.
  • Article Details

    If you are having issues or problems with your printer, such as warning that the spool has crashed, then you might have to reinstall your printer drivers. This is a simple process as described below.
  • Recreate Issue

    To Recreate This issue:

    This issue may accur if the drivers somehow go bad, or during driver installation, a duplicated driver is installed, of which, causes the drivers to fail.
  • Resolve Issue

    To resolve this issue:
    The uninstall the drivers, perform the following actions.

    Go to [Start] then [Printer and Faxes]
    (or)
    My Computer | Control Panel | Printer and Faxes

    [Right Click] on the Printer that you are experiencing issues with, and choose [Delete]
    You will be presented with the following dialog.

     
    Are you sure you want to delete the printer ‘Printer Name Here’?
    Click [Yes]


    You may encounter a duplicate printer, that will appear after the initial printer is deleted, in this case, perform the same as above, by [Right Click] and [Delete] of that duplicated printer.

    After you have successfully deleted the printer, perform the following.

    Click on [Add Printer]
    When the dialog appears click on [Next]
    Choose either [Local] or [Network Printer].
    The system will scan to find the printer and install the drivers.
